On Monday, January 25, Christos and Fani Marmarelli took an important step towards their qualification for the World Alpine Ski Championship in Cortina, Italy. The two brother & sister who are athletes of the ski department of M.G.S. Panserraikou, in the international ski race in Jahorona, Bosnia had a very good performance.
Christos Marmarellis scored the best performance of his career in the downhill race. The 18-year-old champion scored the 13th best overall time with 92.16 points in the FIS special standings, which is his best individual performance. Christos Marmarellis completed the first leg of the race in a time of 48.68 while in the second half he made 53.87 and with a total of 1: 42.55 finished in 13th place.
The success for the Marmarelli family continued in the international race of Jahorona in Bosnia, with Christos’s sister, Fani Marmarelli taking part in the respective women’s race and winning the 5th place with 142.86 points, a performance that was also her best individual . The Serraia champion covered the first leg of the free descent at 54.37, while in the second her time was 1: 01.04 with a total of 1: 55.41 being the time that brought her to 5th place.
